Games I've Made:

Game-O-Matic

Make a game about anything you want! Game-O-Matic was conceived as a tool for generating journalistic games (or newsgames) through a simple “concept mapping” of relevant actors and their relationships. It is a versatile way of thinking about meaning and games and can be used as a general design tool to explore the relationship between things, the metaphorical potential of game mechanics, and procedural rhetoric. Play with it here!

Prom Week

Prom Week is a social simulation game about a group of high school kids in the week before their prom. The player chooses what social actions each character takes with one another while solving social puzzles (e.g. get Zack to date Monica). Prom Week's AI is like none other (each character has over 5,000 social considerations!) and was a crazy ambitious project. Play it online at Facebook or Kongregate.

Reflect

Reflect is an art game made as Mike Treanor's Digital Arts and New Media MFA thesis project at the University of California at Santa Cruz. In the game, the player can look through the perspectives of other creatures and mimic their actions in order to gain abilities. This often meditative experience is combined with the challenge of observation puzzles to encourage imagination, contemplation and create a state of tranquil engagement.

Rationalization

In Rationalization, you have the power to shape your reality by adhering to the wisdom of others.

A Moose's Love

A Moose's Love is an allegorical game about a marginalized moose trying to grow his tree of happiness. This was created during the Global Game Jam with Teale Fristoe and Bill Manegold.

Toward Understanding Relationships

Toward Understanding Relationships is very experimental art game that was created in an attempt to capture the sensations of the sometimes highly confusing and complicated interactions between two people who love each other. It is to be played while wearing 3d glasses.

Newsgames

Simple games that express opinions about current events.
